Do not start the shift on a dashboard

Start from the papers, not a ratio.
Start from the papers, not a ratio.

Original diagram. Not a site record.

A dashboard of ratios is a calculation about yesterday's tiles. The shift needs who is on, what work is permitted, what changed, what you will walk, and what you will not claim. Those facts are not in a PUE cell or a green health score.

Start from the sheet. Who is covered, by name, not by a team that does not wake up. Which jobs are allowed to open a plant. Which abnormal state is already in force, so you do not treat a planned trip as a surprise. What the last shift left open. Then walk. Then look at a screen, and only at points that have already earned the right to speak.

A ratio can be reported later if a contract requires it, by the contract's method, cited by title. It is not the first sentence of the day. A hall can be fine on a ratio and still have the one feed you care about missing. Manage the named point, not the percent of tiles.

Courses that train facilities managers may be named. This is not those slides. The day still ends with a sentence you can say without the dashboard in front of you.
